Oman and the United States are seeking to enhance their economic and investment relations, focusing on trade expansion, boosting Omani exports, and attracting more American investment. This development follows a meeting between Oman’s Minister of Economy, Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, and representatives from the Oman Trade Office in the United States, who visited Oman to discuss the current state and future plans for economic ties between the two nations.
The discussions highlighted several key areas, including improving access for Omani products in the US market and identifying new avenues for trade cooperation. The talks also addressed challenges and opportunities, aiming to solidify the economic partnership between the two countries.
Bilateral trade between Oman and the United States has been significant, reaching approximately OMR 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. Noteworthy Omani exports to the US include chemicals and aluminum, while the US primarily exports vehicles and transport equipment to Oman, indicating a robust trade relationship.
The meeting emphasized the importance of these economic connections and the potential for future growth. By increasing collaboration, both Oman and the US hope to strengthen their economic ties and explore new areas of mutual benefit.
